Born and raised in Seattle, Washington Melissa McCutcheon has exhibited her work in such cities as Rotterdam, Netherlands, New York, NY, Brooklyn, NY, Newark, NJ, Chicago, IL, Worcester, MA, Berkeley, CA and Seattle, WA in a variety of solo, two-person and group exhibitions since 1999. Melissa has been awarded numerous prizes and painting fellowships including Fundacion Valparaiso, Mojacar, Spain, Djerassi Resident Artist's Program, The Ragdale Foundation, Foundation Kaus Australis, Rotterdam, Netherlands, The Ucross Foundation, The Jentel Foundation, the Corporation of Yaddo and The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation. Melissa also serves as an instructor at The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
