Annual Awards Show

Opening reception: Tuesday, April 26, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Eligibility:
The show is open to all GW students who were or are currently enrolled in Fine Arts courses within the current academic year 2010-2011 or those whose works have been produced since April 2010 in conjunction with a GW course.
 
Conditions of entry:
Eligible artists may submit up to three works. Each work must have one copy of the entry form attached to the back. The other copy of the form with duplicate information must be turned in to department staff when the work is dropped off for jurying.
 
About the juror: Jayme McLellan
Jayme McLellan is the founding director of Civilian Arts Projects, a gallery representing emerging and established artists in Washington, DC. McLellan has worked in the arts since the mid-1990s curating exhibitions and organizing events in galleries and alternative spaces in Washington, DC; New Orleans, LA; Minneapolis, MN; New York, NY; Miami, FL; and museums in Canada and Europe. Prior to Civilian Arts Projects, McLellan co-founded and served as co-director of Transformer (2002-2006). Civilian Arts Projects is the second organization founded by McLellan and her first solo venture. From 1998 to 2001, she was Director of Development for the District of Columbia Arts Center (DCAC). She is adjunct faculty at the Corcoran College of Art and Design and St. Mary's College of Maryland. She leads classes on professional practices and curatorial theory.
