Refractions

Gallery 102
801 22nd Street NW
Washington, DC 20052

Exhibition Dates: October 17 – October 28
Opening Reception: October 20

Gallery 102 is pleased to present “Refractions,” an exhibition focusing on both the use and depiction of light within art. No matter how integral to a work of art, light in many ways has a role to play. The viewer’s evoked response is determined by the artist’s use of light. Thus, “Refractions” demonstrates the multiplicity of ways an artist both explores and manipulates it. Each artist presents their personal interpretation of this concept, much like the diverse way in which a particular medium refracts light.

On display are a number of local artists from the DC metro area. Their works include sculpture, photography, painting, and various other media.

Gallery 102 is a student-run exhibition space located at the George Washington University whose mission is to support students and faculty with curatorial and exhibition opportunities. For additional information please contact gallery102@gwu.edu
