Gallery 102
Smith Hall of Art
Opening Reception: 5 pm to 7 pm

Redefining Black is a show born out of the 2015 Black Heritage Celebration, a movement that seeks to change the dynamic and image of a minority within the curricular aspect of the George Washington University, its respected community, and beyond. The show explores the complex issues surrounding the identity of Black Americans within predominantly Caucasian spaces. The works challenge viewers to think critically about their perceived notions of Black culture and people.
