Patrick Killoran

Patrick Killoran is George Washington University's inaugural Artist-in-Residence for the Spring 2013 semester. Killoran will be providing a public lecture on his work March 27, 2013 at 6:15 in Smith Hall 114.

Patrick Killoran, an artist living and working in New York City, integrates a variety of media into his practice to articulate the ethos of consumer culture. Drawing on sculptural and situational aesthetics, Killoran’s work traces the currents of consumerism that link together art, space, and the public sphere. Killoran has exhibited widely, with solo exhibitions at Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, IL; Los Cienegas Projects in Los Angeles, CA; Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, UK; and P.S. 1 in Long Island City, NY among others.  His work has been included in group exhibitions at Contemporary Arts Museum Huston, Houston, TX; Battersea Art Centre, London, UK; Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan; and SculptureCenter, Long Island City, NY.  In addition, he has participated in residencies at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Art in General’s Eastern European Residency Exchange, and Civitella Ranieri in Umbertide, Italy.
