OBSTRUCTION

OBSTRUCTION
Curated by students in Prof. Obler’s Dean’s Seminar Art of the Exhibition
November 7 – December 2, 2011
Opening Reception: November 15, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Students in Art of the Exhibition were proud to present OBSTRUCTION, a unique student-produced and curated exhibition. OBSTRUCTION represents any type of physical, psychological, ideological, political, or personal barrier that acts as an obstacle in life. Barriers such as these were not only explored in artworks hanging on the walls, but also in the spaces around the artworks. Featured works were of varied mediums including 2-D, 3-D, and performance art pieces. Some viewers had unforeseen difficulty moving through the gallery; however, they were challenged to find beauty and meaning in the artworks and spaces obstructing their way.
