Gallery 102 and TEDxFoggyBottom presented a collaborative exhibition entitled Illuminate!
TEDxFoggyBottom is a local TEDx event in the Foggy Bottom area geared towards challenging participants to not only learn and listen, but also to grow and encourage change as active members of the DC community. In the spirit of the TEDxFoggyBottom’s mission to mobilize dreamers, travelers, and learners whose goal is to encourage deep discussion and teamwork in the local community, the organization came together with GWU’s student-led art gallery, Gallery 102, to highlight the works of student artists who are taking risks and pushing their creative boundaries beyond what may be considered traditional medias and means. Illuminate! sought to challenge artists to explore what illuminates, motivates, or inspires them in their artistic practices and everyday lives, while simultaneously encouraging viewers to consider and question the themes and concepts raised by artists. This exhibition served as a precursor to TEDxFoggyBottom 2014: Illuminate on February 7.
A special collaboration by TEDxFoggyBottom student leaders will also be on display, as well as spaces for viewers to interact and engage with the artworks.
