The Expanded Field
March 26 – April 6, 2012
Opening Reception: March 27, 5:00 – 6:00 pm
Installation art describes an artistic genre of two-dimensional or three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of space.
The genre incorporates a broad range of everyday and natural materials, which are often chosen for their “evocative” qualities, as well as new media such as video, sound, performance, immersive virtual reality and the internet.
Interactive installation is a sub-category of installation art. An interactive installation frequently involves the audeience acting on the work of art or the piece responding to users' activity.
Participants were encouraged to use different materials including digital, video, film, sound and sculpture.
