WASHINGTON, DC – Gallery 102 is pleased to present “After-Facts”, an exhibition featuring the works of eleven local and national artists whose artistic conclusions present photographs as both a definite and metaphorical visual construct; as a phenomenon that’s isn’t to be interpreted as fact after their production.

"After-Facts" examines how contemporary artists bring pre-existing objects, locations, subjects, or occurrences into view, and in by doing so, construct new photographs that are both a notation and departure of the pre-existing. Their approach broadens the way photographs have traditionally been situated within the gallery, artistic, and technological sectors. Featured works reach across a variety of genres and employ found photographs, staged photographs, collaged photographs, commercial photographs, and scanner-graphs. In doing so, these artists extend the nature of photographic outputs beyond essential documentations of the world.

Gallery 102 is a student run exhibition space located at The George Washington University whose mission is to support student and faculty with curatorial and exhibition opportunities. For additional information please contact
