Absence of Presence/Presence of Absence

Absence of Presence/Presence of Absence
Curated by James Liu, Christie Malvin, and Kevin Welch, BA students
February 27 – March 9, 2012
Opening Reception: March 2, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
This exhibition, curated by BA Fine Arts majors, included work based on the following passage:
the future is invariably speculative.
in the ebb and flow of now
how we define becomes what we see,
vice versa,
 and our dualities entangle.
perception becomes perception,
the participant the observer,
and the observer the participant.
existence cyclical and in tango with itself,
everything is as is can be.

yet
in the presence of absence
in the absence of presence,
convention becomes contradiction.
and
when met with unconditional acceptance
we cannot separate ourselves.
though we try otherwise
the future is invariably speculative.
